The Digital Communications Research Laboratory depends organically on the Electronic Department, School of Electronic Engineering, Facultad de Ciencias Exactas, Fisicas y Naturales, Universidad Nacional de Cordoba (UNC), Cordoba, Argentina (www.unc.edu.ar).


The Universidad Nacional de Cordoba, founded in the XVII century by Trejo y Sanabria, is the oldest institution of its kind in the Argentina Republic. It enjoys an unquestionable prestigue all over Latin America based on the well known intellectuals that have formed, and the revolutionary ideas that have produced from the very beginning.


The University is divided in 15 Faculties. One of them, the Facultad de Ciencias Exactas, Fisicas y Naturales, is the place where all the necessary knowledge to prepare Engineers, Geologists and Biologists is imparted. Each field of Engineering conforms a School, and each particular School groups the different areas of knowledge in Departments. Each Department is divided in Subject Areas and Laboratories.


The Digital Communications Research Laboratory (LCD, Laboratorio de Comunicaciones Digitales) is the hub of research and graduate education in the area of digital communications at the Universidad Nacional de Cordoba. Founded in 1991, the center is a research unit within the Department of Electronics and the School of Electronic Engineering. The LCD is committed to innovation in both research and education. The main mission of this center is to perform state-of-the-art research, with the consequent preparation of BS and PHS students in the field of digital communications. Other interests include the production of innovative proyects to facilitate the interaction and collaboration between faculty and industry, the preparation in this specific area, and the advice about new technological implementations on this sphere of action.
