The Digital Communications Research Laboratory (LCD) belongs to the Department of Electronics and was founded in 1991. This center is committed to innovation in both research and education. Its principal mission consists in performing state-of-the-art research in digital communications, with the consequent preparation of young scientists and engineers for leathership positions in academia and industrial research and development.
The main emphasis of the Digital Communications Research Laboratory has been placed in the area of the Digital Wireless Communication, focusing in those applications that take into account not only the transmission of voice, but also the transmission of video and data (Wireless Multimedia). The result of this action line could be clearly appreciated in the projects and technical publications that have been presented by the members of this lab during the last years. These works are detailed in R+D and Publications sections of our site.
